Each year we welcome our membership to join us for our annual meeting to learn what we have accomplished and discuss our future goals.
Our 77th Annual Meeting of the Membership was held at Montessori Academy of Chambersburg. There were 65 members, volunteers, and employees in attendance. Each attendant had a chance to win our door prize (a 32 inch LED TV). Check out our lucky winner below! The Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee elections were held and we welcomed two new board members, Alan Estes and Andrew Nelson and Roy Johnston was re-elected; each for a 3-year term. We also welcomed a new supervisory committee member, Karen Shearer for a 3-year term. Our 2015 Board of Directors is pictured above. 1st Ed Credit Union gives two $2,500 scholarships to students that show academic success, participate in extracurricular activities, and are involved in their community. For this year’s essay we asked the students to answer the following points in a 500 word essay:
- What is Your degree of commitment to pursue a college education,
- How you are preparing financially to meet that goal, and
- How you anticipate making a contribution to society.
Rachel Bartlett is ranked in the top five of her graduating class at Greencastle-Antrim High School. During her high school career, Rachel has received honors and awards from National Honor Society, Tumani Ambassador Club, and a varsity letter for Track and Field. When she’s not in school, she dedicates time to helping out her local community and church. This fall Rachel will attend Shippensburg University majoring in English with a Secondary Education focus.
Lily McDowell is ranked in the top ten of her graduating class at Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She participates with the Cantamos, Choristers, and Symphonette select singing groups, Interact Club, and is part of the National Honor Society. Outside of school, she spends time volunteering with her church and working for a local summer camp. Lily will be majoring in Physical Therapy at Lebanon Valley College this fall.
