The InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) announced an extensive credit card breach this week that impacts nearly 5,000 hotels worldwide. It was reported that malware was designed to steal the hotel guest’s card information. During the initial discovery, it was believed that very few properties were impacted; however, the number of locations has grown substantially to include 1,200 U.S. franchise hotels.
IHG has put more than a dozen hotel brands that include: Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, InterContinental, Kimpton Hotels, and Crowne Plaza.
