Members Can’t Stop Talking About…

Our Services

“I’ve been a loyal member since its infancy back in the 1970’s and I’ve seen it grow from a small office in the basement of someone’s house to the modern, high-tech operation it is today. But all the while they’ve never lost sight of their name responsibility…their members.
For the past week I was having problems getting online to the credit union’s home page and accessing my account. Through the hard work of the customer service staff and the tech support provided by the company that services 1st Ed’s website I was able to finally resolve the issues and once again get online with my account.
Over the years my wife and I have taken advantage of many types of loans for home mortgages, used and new auto loans, personal lines of credit, VISA credit cards, and no matter what anyone we’ve dealt with at 1st Ed was always more than willing to bend over backwards to help us out. Just want to say thank you 1st Ed (Franklin County Teacher’s Credit Union) for always being there when we needed you.”

“Just after being hired by the Big Spring School District, I was encouraged to join the Credit Union by my mother who was also a member.  I requested a payroll deduction to a savings account that has allowed me to tuck money aside over the past 20+ years for all kinds of family needs including vehicle purchases, college tuition, and family travel.  I have also financed vehicles and an RV through the Credit Union and have been extremely impressed with the prompt, courteous, and professional service that I have received.  I have a great, low interest credit card through the Credit Union and appreciate the security of knowing that a local financial team is processing my transactions and protecting my financial information.”

– Donna, Big Spring School District

“1st Ed is the easiest financial institution to work with! Last spring, I saw an article in 1st Ed’s newsletter about a refinancing special. I was curious, of course, because the interest rate for the refinance was amazing and there were no closing costs.  I called 1st Ed immediately about my interest and off we went.  In just a few short weeks, the refinance was complete! I received prompt, professional, and friendly service and I really appreciated it. I look forward to my continued relationship with 1st Ed.”

Love My Credit Union Rewards:

“My 1st Ed Credit Union membership saved me over $1,650 when purchasing a new GM vehicle.  It pays to belong!”

CO-OP Shared Branch:

“Shared Branch Servicing, A Must for the Traveler. If it wasn’t for shared branch servicing, my life on the road would be costly!  The fact is that I travel 70% of the week up and down the East Coast, so I am forced to do my banking either online or in a Shared Branch service center.  If I had my way, all credit unions would be mandated to be Shared Branch service centers.  The fees every year that I save are over one hundred dollars.  Hotels can’t guarantee the safety of their internet services to do banking transactions online. So this is the primary reason why I use the shared branch service centers to move money between credit unions in PA and NY.”

Our Mobile App

“I’ve been using 1st Ed’s mobile banking app since 2011. I find it to be easy to use, accurate and safe. I’ve conducted business with 1st Ed from Albuquerque, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Ft. Myers, DC and NYC. Everything was in real-time, and I’ve never had the first problem of any kind. The app will even help you to locate a no-fee ATM wherever you are. Don’t leave home without it!”

– Bill

“OK I just downloaded the app and I have to say this is AWESOME!  We will be going on vacation in a few weeks to VA and NC and it will be so nice to be able to find surcharge free ATMs while on vacay!  Love this!”

– Marty

“My wife and I have been 1st Ed members for quite some time.  In fact it was FCTCU when we started.  We have financed a travel trailer, a car and several home equity loans for our children’s education through the Credit Union.  I recently downloaded the app for my iPhone and iPad and it helps tremendously.  We have both a savings and checking account at 1st Ed and half of my salary goes directly into the savings while all of my wife’s teacher’s retirement money goes directly into the checking.  Our mortgage payment comes automatically out of our account so the app makes it extremely easy to keep track of our funds and transfer money in seconds when needed.  I would recommend 1st Ed and the app to anyone.”

“The benefits of membership are clear. We receive lower rates on loans, more flexible terms, and reward credit cards. Everyone enjoys the friendly service and local connections through the teaching community. We especially appreciate the credit union’s commitments to educators and their needs.”

– Patrick McDonald – Saint Andrew the Apostle School

“Montessori Academy of Chambersburg is proud to be a member of 1st Ed Credit Union. The benefits the credit union can offer to its members were foremost in our choice to become an affiliate. The low costs related to having accounts and the number of services available at low or no cost to members created an immediate benefit to our faculty members. Thank you for being a part of our community!”

– Michelle D’Antonio – Montessori Academy of Chambersburg
