On April 26, 2016, Fannett-Metal School District 5th graders visited 1st Ed Credit Union to take a tour and learn about the credit union. During their visit the students:
- Went through the process of a cash and mobile check deposit.
- Used the coin machine to exchange coins for cash.
- Learned why loans are necessary and why we pay interest on them.
- Met the credit union staff and learned how every employee makes the credit union work as a whole.
1st Ed Credit Union dedicates time to educate the youth on the importance of financial literacy. Taking time to teach children about finances and involve them in the family budget is a necessary step on their path to financial stability.
