On March 8, 2019, 50 seniors from McConnellsburg High School participated in a Financial Reality Fair. Each student researched their desired career to find their entry-level job and beginning salary before the fair. During the interactive budgeting exercise, students visited 10 booths to make decisions on everyday life expenses from housing to entertainment to caring for pets. Each student also had a spin on the Wheel of Reality to find out if they had to pay out of pocket for an expense or if they earned money. After the students visited all of the booths, they finalized their budgets with a Financial Counselor from 1st Ed to figure out if they had money leftover at the end of the month, or if they needed to reduce some expenses or find a part-time job to make ends meet.
